Colombia unveils US$2.25bn plan for universal energy access

Colombia will require investments of 7.41tn pesos (US$2.25bn) to provide universal access to electric power, according a five-year expansion plan published by energy ministry planning unit UPME. 

Isolated solutions with hybrid micro-networks account for 48% of proposed investments, while individual isolated solutions make up 43%. The remainder corresponds to distribution grid expansion works.
